Results of Our Efforts
In 2006, the Center served 125 students and 75 volunteer tutors. All of our volunteer tutors receive 12 credit hours of training and are certified by Pro Literacy America.

48 new volunteers successfully completed tutor training
30 students reported greater survival skills
25 acknowledged greater parenting skills
81 obtained or retained employment
4 participated in public speaking literacy and civic events
115 studied independently on the computer
1 achieved citizenship
10 students began studying English at our second site
4 students moved from Spanish Literacy to English

As the need to learn English grows, we need more volunteers to join us as tutors. Call
the Center to find out when the next training session begins.
